Mairead is a native of Kilkenny. She is a graduate of NCAD with a post Grad in Community arts and Education. She has lived in Dranagh for nearly seven years and is constantly fascinated by the natural and rugged beauty of this area, hidden Ireland.
The effect of man on the countryside over the centuries is of continuous interest to Mairead in her practice. The work here is a combination of periods in Mairead’s work, a sample. Her studio is at the foot of White Mountain, where she works and runs a variety of courses, painting ( mainly water based media) courses, Card Making, Batik and more; short and weekly as well as children’s camps from time to time.
